Rose Garden

May is the best season for rose garden touring in Japan, but I was to busy to visit last month...
I'd been wanting to see a lot of roses. I'm not a rose geek, though.

This month, I had a chance to visit a rose garden. I didn't expect they were in bloom... BUT!

They were beyond the peak, but we could still enjoy them!

This rose garden mainly has "Old Roses" which is relatively flowering in late season.

You can enjoy not only "Old Roses" but such Indian Roses here.

Love the British style garden, which has climbing roses on a fance or an arch. But I'm recently drawn to a natural garden which has many wild flowers and grasses, like the above and following shots I took here.

Until the last season, I think I couldn't notice those kind of shots due to forcusing only on roses. Maybe I've been very influenced by Shirley's garden blog;) Thank you, Shirley!

  1. Beautiful pictures Keity, I love roses and mine are just getting into full flush, very late as we have had such a late spring, but finally I get roses in my garden. I have 10 rosebushes, 4 in containers and the rest in the ground. I also love roses climbing up arches and pergolas, but I have not room for that in my tiny garden, the only climbing rose I have is trained up on my fence and is kept very strictly in place as the fence is not that high. I’d love to have a pergola like in your first photo!

  2. That's so pretty, I enjoy seeing roses growing on fences and arbors too. I do not grow many roses as they are a favorite food of the deer.

I liked seeing the garden of grasses and flowers, it's nice the way they are massed together. My garden does have more grasses and wildflowers as that is a style I like and works well where I live in Texas. Thank you for mentioning my blog with the link.
