Plants in San Francisco

Well, this is the final in the San Francisco series.
We don't have much time for sightseeing, but I want to keep a record of plants which impressed me.

さてサンフランシスコシリーズもいよいよ最終回。
あまり観光時間は取れなかったけど、印象に残った植栽の写真を記録しておこうっと♪


Firstly, Olive trees along streets.
We rarely use Olive as a roadside tree in Japan, so this scenery was attractive for me. They were dazzling in the sunshine!


まずは街路樹のオリーブ
日本ではなかなかない風景だけど、葉っぱが太陽に輝いて素敵！
日本も亜熱帯化してきているし、真似できそうだね〜

Walking around the bay area, we found a church with a rose garden! It's always exciting for tourists to find a wonderful place which isn't on a guidebook, isn't it?

ブラブラ散策していたら、バラのお庭の教会を発見～♪
こーゆーガイドブックにない発見って嬉しい♪♪♪

Mr.K and Mr.F, my workmates, were forced to drop by here..hahaha... Of course, they both are not "Gardeners."
Surprisingly, however, Mr.F enjoyed smelling roses and smiled at us!!

"I've never known that he has such a habit!" Mr. K said,
"That's a good habit ;-)" I said.


こんなところに「寄り道」するハメになった仕事仲間のKさんとFさん…。
もちろん植物には関心ナシ。。。のはず。。。


ところがFさん、意外とドンドン奥へ進み、薔薇の匂いを嗅いで満面の笑顔!?
「彼にこーゆー趣味があったとは!?」　とビックリ顔のKさん…

「イイ趣味じゃーん！！」とアタシ…

でこぼこトリオ珍道中♪
なんだか楽し〜〜♪♪

今回は一眼レフを持って行かなかったことが悔やまれる…。
iPhoneで撮ったけど、この写真じゃここの良さが伝わらないわ〜　(＊´Д｀)＝з


I should have brought SLR.... As I took these photos with iPhone, I can't convey its great atmosphere...

You can enjoy not only Roses but such a lovely Aquilegia here. It reminded me of a Barbie doll. Don't you feel that it's Americanized???

なんとなくバービー人形のイメージ…?

This is a roadside planting in Fishermans Wharf.
Love those kind of planging used some grasses like Carex with flowers!!!

こちらはフィッシャーマンズ・ワーフの植栽
グラス系を入れたドライな雰囲気の植栽って大スキーーー！！！

"What are the yellow flowers???"

Let's get much closer....

 

It was Aquilegia, again:) Seemed like that we could find Aquilegias here and there in SF. Maybe it's popular plants here.

 

 

黄色いお花は何だろー?  と思って近づくと…

 

オダマキでした！！
教会のお庭といい、この街はわりとオダマキがカジュアルに植えられていた気がする。。。

Actually, I've just visited a natural garden which has these kind of tastes in Japan. This time, I brought SLR with me and will introduce you soon!!
