Where am I ???

A nice place for a picnic or just to wander around and relax.

Want to share with you a very famous garden in Japan.

Even in July,

roses were still in bloom.

What a fascinating avenue of Platanus!

The pattern of its tree bark is also attractive:)

Not only English garden, but such a Japanese taste you can enjoy here...

These trees are pine! They must have been pruined  in the shape of parasol for shade:)

Actually, the garden I visited was not in the countryside...
Then, guess where!

It's located in the middle of a big city, Shinjuku, Tokyo, called 'Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden.' It was originally a residence of  a lord about 400 years ago. It is now a park under the jurisdiction of Ministry of the environment. This garden is huge, about 58.3 hectares in area with a circumference of 3.5km!!! Can't believe that it exists in the center of a big city!!!

It's famous for cherry trees, so I strongly recommend you to visit here early in spring, from late March to early April, during the season in which the cherry blossoms are to be in bloom .

You can see the NTT Docomo building which reminds me of the Empire State building in NY. Now, I can understand that some people call here "Central Park in Tokyo."

After walking around with good pals in nature, we stopped at a skyscraper restaurant for dinner.

It took only about 30-minute walk from the garden to the high-rises, which made me kind of confused... like, "Where am I ?" ahaha...

  5. The contrast between the high risings and the garden is amazing. Love the platanus tree avenue, which we have here too, but so beautiful. The parasol shaped pines so interesting to see. Thank you for sharing all this.
