How are you doing? It's unbearably hot here in Japan. We've been having muggy days with a daytime high of 37 to 40 degrees...
I'm happy to linking up to Garden Broggers' Bloom Day, again! Let's get to see what's flowering in my small balcony today! It's so hot that there are few, though...
Pink-head knotweed
Actually, I loooove this Pink-head knotweed. Some people say that it's just an weed, but I don't think so. I put some pots between the bricks as if they grew up through a crack.
Oh, you think that it's too common and tiny one for opening, don't you?
Okay, then...
How about it? Oooh, It's a little one, again...hahaha...
I don't remember that I planted this flower before, so I'm not sure about its name, but love it!
I know that you'd better not to let roses flower during such a hottest seasen... So, I've been trying to nip buds... But couldn't nip all of them, so some have produced flowers...
White Duchesse de Brabant
It's the first time that the White Brabant produces flowers in summer. Amazing to see that it has such a pale orange colored flower!
Old Fantasy
Some clematises also produce flowers these days. This is their second time this year.
And then, the best summer flower in my balcony is...
Protea Cynaroides
Protea Cynaroides!!!
I'm going to show you its flowering process...
I got it from my garden friend, Hide, recently. I've never expected such a gorgeous flower! Amazed to see the beautiful color gradation from pink to yellow, the center stamens, and yellow to red, the calyxs. I looove it! Thank you, Hide!!
That's all about it, this month! Thank you for stopping by:)

Dearest Keity , Good Morning ! It is so nice to see your blooming flowers in your balcony !This summer here is so hot , so I didn't see any flower to my balcony ...Yours are seem so healthy and beautiful !Have a nice day !
ReplyDeleteHere we have a hot summer too, but 35 degr. has been highest temp. here. Lovely flowers I even like the knotweed, it is so tiny I think just appropriate for on a balcony. But.......the Protea steals the show, she looks just gorgeous. Once I got Protea seeds from South Africa. I sowed them in my greenhouse but was not successful.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice day, Janneke
Those high temperatures obviously suit the protea - it's stunning! The roses are gorgeous too, you must be glad that you still had a few flowers :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful garden post...like all your flowers...lovely day darling....love Ria...x !
ReplyDeleteOh that is so hot, very similar to the weather I have in Texas.

We've had a relatively cool summer with lots of rain--such a difference from last year's heat and drought. Your flowers are lovely!

ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!!
This is one of the prettiest Protea's iv'e seen, I have been thinking about putting one or two in my native garden.
ReplyDeleteHappy GBBD! You mentioned how hot is...here too. ...as a matter of fact, this past week I read that most plants in a traditional United State's southern garden are from Japan...I guess we have the same climate....maybe...but it was insanely hot here too until recently.
