I decided to join the Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day, held by Carol at May Dreams Gardens
Actually, Helen introduced me to this monthly event.
She saied,
"Basically, you just take photos of all the plants in your garden in flower on the 15th of every month, or maybe the day before if you want to post on the 15th, that’s what I usually do. It makes a great record to look back on for later, I have been doing it since January 2012 and can now compare what was flowering in my garden last year with this year."
It sounds like fun to me!
Okay, here are my first edition of GBBD!
Apple Mint
This is the first time to get a shot of Apple Mint by DSLR. Thanks to the good lense, I found the new charms in its flowers.
Hellebores
I have four pots of Hellebores, but two of them didn't produce flowers this year...
Thunberg spirea
They are beyond their peak, though.
Biola "Labradorica"
Love not only its lovely flowers but heart shaped leaves:)
Tiarella wherryi
I don't know the name of...sorry...
'Cause this plant grew up at the edge of a pot when I bought some other plant.
I thought it as a weed at that time but it produced lovely flowers:)
It's one of the Japanese traditional plants, I guess.
Puschkinia
As I planted it later than I did as usual, it flowers at last:)
It seems that Vinca's flower season is relatively long. We can enjoy it few more days:)
Snowball
Snowball started producing flowers. I like those lime green colored flowers. When its flowers die, Annabel, my favorite hydrangea which has same colored flowers as Snowball willl stard producing flowers.
Japanese traditional violet
My friend, Yuu, gave it to me last year. When I was handed it over at that time, it had no flowers. But she said, " You must like this flower which is white and tiny." Since then, I've been looking forward to seeing its flower, and finally I did! YES, I love it!!! The size of it is much smaller than I expected, about 1cm or so. She knew I love those kind of little flowers.
These are all about flowering in my garden as of now. Even in early spring, I noticed that there are not many plants. But I have to say that they would be appropriate in my narrow balcony:)
Thank you, Carol! It's very enjoyable to review my own garden.
And thank you, Hellen! You gave me a chance to join such a good event.
And thank you, Hellen! You gave me a chance to join such a good event.
I hope I could post it next month, either:)
Yuu

Beatiful plants and beatiful photos!

Thank you for your lovely comment, Cristina. you make me feel flattered!
DeleteI think you have many flowering plants on your balcony of which you made lovely pictures.
ReplyDeleteThe flower you did not know the name of is most probably an Aquilegia.
Keity, your tidy garden is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteNice hellebore, and pushkinia is blooming but mine is sleeping under the snow.
Have a nice week!
You have so many lovely blooms on your terrace and your images are beautiful. If you want to join in there is Garden Bloggers Foliage Day at my blog on the 22nd of each month. The aim is similar to show what foliage is enhancing the garden each month or you can high light a particular plant. www.myhesperidesgarden.wordpress.com
ReplyDeleteI liked your pictures very much. You have a talent to catch a character of plant and to create a story from one shot. Best wishes!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your sweet comment, Aiste. I'm glad you liked my photos! Have a nice weekend!
DeleteHallo Keity!!Wow!!Wonderful photos and great shots!Your flowers are so beautiful!!Hope you have a lovely week!
ReplyDeleteDimi..
Such lovely photos! You are an artist with the camera.
因みにうちは常に花少ないっ^^;
Your garden says you have a light, artistic touch. Very elegant.
ReplyDeleteDear Keity,
ReplyDeleteGood morning (^-^)/
Your garden is full of Spring!! You always remind me that it is not always necessary to have a big garden, what is important is how much you love and care for the plants you grow.
GBBD~This is a nice idea to keep records of your garden. If I had more less roses I would liked to do the same thing for each rose.
As I texted you I think the small beautiful flower is an Aquilegia. And because of the size of your Aquilegia, it might be a hybridise of a Japanese original Aquilegia with a Aquilegia vulgaris. Very interesting, and would like to see the flowers from this self-pollination also.
Thank you for your information, Hide! Okay, I will try to pick its seeds.
DeleteBy the way, I saw your blog and am impressed by your succulents on tablo(*^_^*) I always think that you're so talented! And look forward to see your new frame〜♪
Hi Keity
ReplyDeleteI love your pictures, and your balcony garden is just beautiful. I had a look at some of your older posts, you have done such a wonderful job of planting it! Looking forward to seeing more of your spring photos.
Wonderful dainty beauties!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your visit and comment on my blog.
Have a beautiful day!

Keity, your pictures are heavenly. They give me such feelings of beauty and peace. Can I ask how you get the blurred, dreamy effect, while the flower stays in sharp focus, for example in your first photo?
ReplyDeleteDear Keity, thank you so much for answering my question and being so generous with your information. It was very helpful and I'll give it a try with some future photos. Have a great day. :)
DeleteKeity,
ReplyDeleteThese are lovely flowers. I've never seen some of these before. The purple ones are my favorite, as purple is my favorite color. They are all very peaceful to look at. I think flowers are the magic in our lives.

Hello Keity and gratulations on taking part in GBBD for the first time :-) Thanks for referring to me and my blog in your post, your photos this month is just gorgeous and I love all the plants but the photo of Apple mint was my favourite. I also grow Annabelle, but I am still waiting for some leaves - the flowers will be very late this year I think. Hope you have a great week-end, take care, Helene.
ReplyDeleteHi Keity,
ReplyDeleteWow, your photos and flowers are lovely. Welcome to GBBD! I try to join about 6 times a year. Also, I just read all of your garden visit posts and they were very nice. I like them a lot.
Keep up the great blogging. I haven't been to see many blogs because of my school work, but it was nice to finally come back and visit yours. You are getting a LOT of comments.
Isn't that fun!
Congratulations to your son graduating.
