Rose season is about to end around here...
This spring, I visited many places especially to see roses, because I've been thinking about getting more climbing roses to my garden..
I went to Yokohama English Garden and looked for the good one...
'Paul's Himalayan Musk' looked lovely! But I was wondering its flowers would bloom for a short period of time...
Then I found the one emitted sweet odor...
Its name was 'Sanders White'. I want white roses, so, this has become one of the candidates:)
I also visited my friend who loves white flowers.
She recommended me 'Iceberg" which was climbing up a pergola in her garden.
The rose I want is...
- Climbing rose
- White flower
- Small or Medium-sized flower
- Disease-resistant
- Strong fragrance
Oh...is it too acquisitive? ahaha...
If you know the good one, please let me know!
Thank you for stopping by:)

Thuis year it is white again on our terraces...i really like white...happy day we have rain rain and more rain......
ReplyDeleteI put your request in the "rose finder" at Antique Rose Emporium website and 'Iceberg' was on the list of recommendations. Iceberg is beautiful in your friend's garden. Have fun choosing your rose.

First photo is lovely, walking under these roses must be like visiting paradise.
ReplyDeleteI wish you success in finding the best white climbing rose for your place. I love Sander's white, which I have as a weeping rose on stem in my garden. The disadvantage is that this rose only flowers a short time in mid summer. Climbing Iceberg flowers repeatedly. Wish you success!
Greetings, Janneke
Dear keity, your roses are beautiful! In my garden I have a madame alfred carriere climbing rose,Ii is greit!

Hello Keity, thank you for leaving a comment on my blog. Iceberg is a pure white and it flowers all summer long. The buds are a lovely shape - good in a buttonhole for weddings! The only downside is that it has no perfume. Mme Alfred Carriere has a lovely scent and continues to flower a little after it's main display so I agree with Lorenza that it could be a good choice for you. Fraulein Oktavia Hesse repeat flowers and is sweetly scented but it has a yellow tinge to it and the climbing tea rose, Sombreuil, has a lovely scent. What fun choosing!
ReplyDeleteI'd like the same roses, Keity. Rose 'Iceberg' is hardy enough, I have it in my garden but it's not climbing, grows as a bush. I grow some white roses as well, they are groundcovers, very hardy too.
