Garden having a story

I visited a cafe in a suburbs of Paris...

This is called "Rose Cafe".

A daughter of an owner has taken over the business, lately.

She is 23 years old and graduated from a fashion, art and design school, Marangoni, a couple of months ago.

She had not been interested in a cafe, but decided to take over the business from her old parents...

JUST A MOMENT !!!

Have you noticed something weird in the following photo??

Steel frames are coming out in the sky !?

Ahaha...

I haven't been to Paris, sorry!

I went to "International Roses & Gardening Show" held in Seibu Prince Dome, a baseball stadium, 1-hour train-ride from Tokyo.

It consists of a lot kind of sample gardens, and the theme of this year is "Paris".

He is a designer of this garden, and told us how they created this wonderful garden:)

Firstly, he constructed a story about an old cafe in Paris, run by old elderly couple.
What struck me by surprise, was that the story was built to the last detail, like a movie.

For example, the chairs and benches here have each story.

 A. Old Retired Couple's Seats

Every morning, a retired old couple spends time having coffee here.
Drawing on a cigarette, the former owner, old man talked to his wife cheerfully,
"She (his daughter) got her love of flowers from her mother, you. But now,  her passion for plants has far exceeded yours."  They seem to be  happy that their daughter has taken over their cafe...

 B. Young People's Table

This table is for a group of young people. They always talk a lot about their dreams, here...

C. Housewife's Seat

Having done the housework, a housewife stops by this cafe every afternoon.
Having an order of a usual cafe-au-lait, she starts reading, here.

D. Lover's Bench

This bench is for a young couple who appear every evening.
This corner sits back from the front garden, so, they can have a private conversation:-)

"Setting a story line will make you enter into your garden emotionally." The designer said.

At the lover's bench, the boy is about to give some gift to his girlfriend...

The white box at the bottom right of the above photo is a decorative gift made of cray.
As seen above, you can select decorative goods based on the story.

Having seen this sample garden, I want to rebuild my garden with plot, like this!

  7. Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving a nice comment. This designer is very clever and I've heard of the story angle for gardening - even photos should tell a story supposedly. Very inspirational, and a great Paris theme.

  10. It's a charming sample garden, made more so with the backstory. I'm impressed by the amount of effort that went into its creation (and the storyboard), especially when I compare it to the sample gardens at a show I attended in my own area a month ago.
